Link REIT appoints John Saunders, former head of BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate, as Group CIO, and River Valley Green Condo as a new addition to its property portfolio

Link REIT has appointed John Saunders, the former Asia Pacific Head of Real Estate at BlackRock, as their Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in a newly created role. Saunders will report to Link’s CEO George Hongchoy when he begins his role on the 4th of March 2021 and will be responsible for Link’s overall investment strategies, portfolio management and strategic development of Link’s investment business.

John Saunders’ has an impressive Property industry career stretching over 30 years, notable accomplishments include being Global Head of Real Estate Client Business and also a part of the merger with MGPA in 2013 where he was the CEO of Asia. Furthermore, he was also the Portfolio Manager of their Asian Property Funds series, and even more impressively was instrumental in starting their Asian Property Fund in which he served as an investment committee member. Before MGPA, he worked at Hongkong Land from 1994 to 1998, where he was involved in various landmark projects in Singapore and across Asia.
